What you really need to know about having fertility treatment abroad

There were so many things I didn’t know and needed to know before I started the process of researching, planning and having my fertility treatment in Europe. We need to be informed so that we can make informed decisions that are right for us. If we haven't got the understanding we need then we are likely winging it, which I do not recommend for anyone. This is what I had to do as there was no help and support available to me at that time. It also made me super extra anxious I think, because winging it is not an approach that I like to use generally and there are so many things that could go wrong. I'm not saying this to scare you. I'm saying this because I want to help you so that you have a brilliant experience with researching, planning and having treatment like IVF and egg donation treatment abroad. I think, like me, you want to make informed safe decisions so you can make the best decisions for you, so you can feel in control and to reduce stress and overwhelm along the way.

The first thing that you need to understand is what the process looks like for the type of treatment that you're planning to have. I've actually got a free short guide which is a step by step bird's eye overview of how the process of having IVF in Europe might look and you can access this below. Click the link or copy and paste it into your browser.

Once you've understood the process of having IVF abroad then you can start to dig into the details and understand more about how the process might look for you which will be helpful if you are undecided about whether to go abroad for you fertility treatment too also an overview of the process will also show you the it’s also actually really doable for most people.

You need to decide where you want to go for your treatment and make sure it is somewhere that offers your desired treatment and is somewhere you are able to have your treatment based on your circumstances.

You will need an understanding of the laws, culture, maybe cost of living too. You need to consider how easily accessible it is too. Other things to consider are if the country is well regulated, ethical and politically stable and safe.

Then it’s time to research and contact clinics, make sure they meet your needs and personality and that they are safe and well regulated and set up to look after international patients.

I recommend asking lots of questions to help get the right clinic. There is no one size fits all, all IVF and all fertility treatment is not the same and we all have different medical needs and personalities too.

Once you have chosen a clinic you need to plan your treatment with them and once receiving your protocol and prescriptions get a plan together in terms of when you will be having your treatment and order medication. You can get a free no obligation quote through my online pharmacy service via this link.

When planning your treatment, including the research stages make sure you record everything in one place, like a notebook or somewhere like my planner and journal which you can check out via the link below.

Staying organised will help to keep you on track, more organised and less overwhelmed. You may also want to journal your thoughts and feelings along the way too and it serves as something to reflect back on in the future too.

It's not easy having IVF or other fertility treatment in Europe, but it can be really worth it. When you go abroad there is so much that you need to know and understand and you need to make sure you are consuming accurate information. This then makes the journey so much easier and you can rest easy knowing that you're doing things safely. Going back to my point that all fertility treatment everywhere isn't the same. You want the budget you've got to get the best fertility treatment for your money and stretch as far as it can go. IVF is a numbers game and based on this not working first time for lots of people, you want to make sure that you have the budget you need to have the amount of treatment that you want to have that you want to give yourself the best chance of success at the end of it and so that you don't look back and have any regrets whatever the outcome and I think that is super important.

If you want to know everything you need to know to understand the full process, how to find the right destination and fertility clinic for you that is safe and where you can and want to have treatment, along with how to prepare for the logistics of having fertility treatment and then next steps following the outcome of your fertility treatment I have my DIY toolkit course which is a set instantly accessible videos where I take you through in detail everything and I mean everything that you need to know to do this yourself.

I have been through the process myself 4 times and have now helped 100s of others around the world to start and grow their families. I've taught this live twice before so I know it works and I even offer you a guarantee. The course is full of hints, tips and useful information so that you can move through this with feeling informed, confident, calm and in control. You don't want that with any regrets and you want to know that you're doing things safely and you know how to pick the right destination and the right clinic for you is so important. Honestly, I can't tell you how important it is.

You don’t need to do this alone, winging it and you know, googling, googling, googling and making yourself feel scared, overwhelmed. Everything that you need to know is in there.
