Is it really cheaper to have IVF abroad?

People ask me if it is really cheaper to go abroad for fertility treatment and the answer is? It depends.

Depends on where you are thinking of going, as things vary massively depending on where you choose to go.

So for example if you are based in the UK and went to America, Canada or Australia for treatment it would undoubtedly cost you more. However, if you are focusing your search on Europe then there are some real savings to be made.

Now of course you have to factor in travel and accommodation when going abroad, but even with this included it is cheaper like for like to have fertility treatment in Europe. It is also entirely possible to have two plus full rounds of IVF with ICSI abroad, vs the price of one in the UK (and other places).

Which is very useful, given that for most people (sadly) it takes more than one attempt. It is also super helpful when budgeting too, helping to avoid any nasty surprises and helping you to plan ahead in case it's needed.

No one wants cheap IVF, but you should be looking to get good value for your money, when it is also entirely possible to access excellent, safe treatment that meets your needs.

By going abroad and saving money it might also create the budget to get some support on your journey with fertility treatment abroad, which will help you to make informed decisions,find the right clinic that will offer you the best fit, safe treatment and good value for money, in a destination where you feel comfortable and are eligible for treatment, which so say our clients is money well spent and hand on my heart I don't know anyone who ever regretted getting the right support on this journey. I only wish it had been available to me.
