My Next Chapter | Fertility Support in the UK and Abroad

Twelve years ago, my husband and I started trying for a baby. I had no idea that our experience would eventually lead me to support hundreds of other people navigating their own fertility decisions.

After being turned down for NHS treatment, we explored private options in the UK before looking abroad. Four rounds of treatment and three embryo transfers later, our son was born in 2018.

I remember the uncertainty, the research and the pressure of making enormous decisions when I was already emotionally exhausted. Those experiences led me to start Your IVF Abroad in 2019.

Seven years on, my work has grown. As season five of the podcast comes to an end, I want to explain what that means for you, whether you’re considering fertility treatment abroad or hoping to stay in the UK.

How my fertility support has evolved

When I started, my focus was helping people navigate fertility treatment abroad safely, with reliable information and someone alongside them who understood.

That lived experience still matters. But I’ve also spent years working within the fertility sector, supporting hundreds of people and learning about clinics, specialists and the decisions people face.

I’ve seen how different each person’s circumstances can be. I’ve learned how valuable it is to look at the whole picture before deciding what happens next.

Today, my work involves helping people make sense of their options, identify questions and gaps in their information, and develop a plan that fits their circumstances. Finding a suitable clinic can be part of that process, but it isn’t always where we begin.

Looking at your circumstances before planning your next steps

I start by understanding your fertility history, wishes, priorities and what has already been explored. We look at what you’ve been told, what remains unclear and which questions might need further discussion with the relevant professionals.

That could mean preparing for an appointment, exploring whether to seek a second opinion, or identifying a specialist to speak to. It might involve considering a different clinic or discussing another treatment approach with your medical team.

The aim is to help you understand the decisions in front of you and feel better prepared to make them.

Fertility support in the UK and abroad

Going abroad has never been the right choice for everybody.

In the early days of my business, my expertise focused on overseas treatment. As my professional experience has grown, so has my knowledge of the UK fertility sector.

I can now help people explore suitable clinics and professionals here in the UK too.

Your circumstances, preferences and available options should guide that decision. You shouldn’t feel that working with me means you’ve already committed to travelling abroad.

And once we have a plan, my support continues. I help people contact clinics, navigate correspondence, prepare questions and work through practical arrangements as new decisions arise.

Why my independence matters

I don’t take commission from fertility clinics or receive referral payments from other professionals.

That independence matters because my guidance needs to centre on you and your circumstances.

Sometimes our work together involves finding a suitable clinic. Sometimes it means recognising that you need more information before making a decision, or that a particular route doesn’t feel right for you.

Nobody can guarantee a fertility treatment outcome. What I want is for you to feel informed and supported, knowing you had the opportunity to understand your options and ask the questions that mattered to you.

Key takeaways

  • My support now covers fertility decisions in the UK and abroad.

  • You don’t need to know which clinic or treatment you want before asking for help.

  • I provide independent guidance without clinic commission or referral payments.

  • My support includes helping you put your plan into practice.
